I loved the sermon Sunday. He really hit the nail on the head about education and politics. I also loved the 4 steps to helping your child pray. #1. Acknowledge God's power with praise and humbleness. "God you are awesome, powerful, etc."
#2. Confess: "I am sorry for...."
#3. Thankfulness: "Thank you for...."
#4. Help: "Please help me...."
I am going to start using this with my kids. They are in a rut. "Dear God, thank you for __________ and ________ and ___________."
Just my two cents.....

I also loved the sermon and have tried hard to adopt the "If you haven't prayed about it, don't complain about it" theory since yesterday. So far, it's made me a little bit more careful with my tongue...but then again, it's only Monday! I even adopted the 4 steps with my own prayer last night b/c sometimes I get to rambling and forget what the actually point of prayer is....
you big jerk! i was going to post about this very same thing today, but hadn't had the time yet. anyhow, i really liked the sermon too. i wrote down the 4 steps so i could help my kids pray. yesterday jared was complaining about something and i really wanted to just say if you haven't prayed about it then don't complain about it, but i didn't. i really need to ease into that subject with him. but it will come.
amen, sister...
