finishing touches....

Will our house ever be finished? No....b/c we will always be changing, growing, etc. I'm still looking forward to a pot rack, new bed frames, and some key furniture changes. However, we have "finished" the house for now...with the exception of the toe kick in the kitchen. Vance put rope as trim up both sets of stairs. It looks pretty cool. We also finished hanging all the trim and baseboard! Whew...that wasn't fun.

We had our appraisal yesterday. It was nerve racking and now it's a waiting game to see what it appraises at. The appraiser was very impressed with the character of our house. He liked that it wasn't the same old house, with the standard windows, doors, etc. He said we did a great job and it was too bad we didn't do this together more often. Vance and I did do a good job balancing out the roles of building and making choices. To all those building: it's not the choices, but the stress that is hard on your marriage. So, we will be waiting to hear from our credit union to get the final verdict!
Stop by for a tour, our door is always open:)

i'm glad to hear it's a pot rack and not a pot rock...that sounds like something illegal! good job on the trim!

I really like the rope trim. Who's idea was that? It's very cleaver and fits perfectly with your theme.
