All Aboard!
The 1st grade boarded the Polar Express this morning and road it to the North Pole! They were all picked up in the p.j.s, robes, and slippers. Some even remembered to bring along their stuffed animals.
All 60 kids....we set the chairs up like a train with aisles. Hot chocolate and popcorn was served. It was pretty fun!

Colby and that puppy crack me up...who would have thought a flower shop buy would become a well loved treasure?
I love the idea of making a train. We read that story and to a writing activity. We make post cards out of 5 x 8 index cards. They have to write to a family member about things they do on their trip, create the main picture, create their own stamp, and write the address correctly. It is fun, but not as fun as the train idea. May have to try that next year.
The post card idea is cool too! Teachers are the best idea stealers!
What a cool idea. You guys are such good and creative teachers. I hope Levi gets to do fun things like this when he's in school.
looks like lots of fun. do you remember the year braxton watched that movie (not sure if it was at school or at the theatre) and was telling me all about the bell? and then i bought a bell and left it on our porch and when he found it he was so excited!!!! that was so fun!
