O.K. she's dating someone famous. A friend from high school, Julie Willcox, is dating an actor. One that you see on t.v. Yep, an actor that is "famous." He's the teacher on the new show Starter Wife on Lifetime.
I've been thinking of age a lot lately. I know all of you old fogies out there are scoffing at me, but you we're my age once, so don't laugh! I think it's funny how YOU never seem old. Everyone else just seems young! I make a solemn promise that I will never be the person that says: Oh, you should have been (insert age here) when I was! When I was (insert age here)..... Oh honey, you haven't lived yet, you're still young!
Those people just drive me crazy, I get so irritated b/c they think they are better b/c they have been married longer, have more kids, have more experience, they ALL had to start somewhere...SO QUIT BEING A KNOW-IT-ALL! I know that I'm young, but I'm moving on up in year too. I just signed up for something and had to put my birth date and had to scroll to find the year I was born! I'm usually right there, but I had to move up! Yep, me! I couldn't believe it. WOW...now that's old! I don't know about you, but it still shocks me that people born in 1987 can legally drink! What??!! Didn't they just start high school? I really need to accept change and get on with it. Side note: I still got carded when ordering a margarita on Saturday night and then caused the other people sitting at my table to be carded. How funny is that? I hope I continue to age gracefully! So, even though I have had my 10 year class reunion, my BABY will be in kindergarten next year, and I will celebrate my 10 year wedding anniversary next year, I AM still young darn it!
Here is a picture of our house with all the shingles on except a 17ft end cap on the top. They ran out and the lumberyard was out. I think it looks cool and can't wait to see the color with the siding and the porch all put together. Other than the roof, the guys have been doing things that take awhile, but don't look like much. They've put the back on both stairways and are putting in a stud wall on the north gable. I think the next step is to get OSB up on both gables and then to start wiring. The wiring is exciting, but a little overwhelming b/c I have to decide where to turn lights on and off and where to put plug ins. I've heard a lot of opinions from lots of people and I pay attention when at other's houses. For example, after being at Bree and Jared's we will put a light switch at the top of the stairs to turn off the lights in the basement:)...smart huh? Off the subject....our reunion is coming up on Saturday. At first, I wasn't too excited, but after seeing who is coming I am getting more and more excited every day. I will see a few friends I haven't seen in 10 years! I know, we're getting old. One more thing...someone at school wore "shower shoes" to work and got away with it! You know, the ones with the one velcro strap, the little pointy things on the bottom, and they say adidas across the top. Yep, like I said shower shoes, sliders, slippers...whatever, it really TICKS ME OFF! Like those look better than my cute flip flops? I think not! P.S. Thanks Annette for pointing them out to me. If not, I would not have had to get my panties in a bunch! Last thought....Vance got called out tonight:( I guess it won't matter if you call after 10, b/c I'll be alone, all alone, just me,and no one else, bummer.....and I shaved my legs and everything!
Welcome....this blog is to remind you that there still are "normal" people in this world. I raise my children the best I can, but am not always #1 mommy. I love my husband, but don't always "like" him and vice-versa! I am passionate...but not to the point of smothering a person with my beliefs. Enjoy....
I have a wonderful husband of 12 years....
I'm the proud mom to Colby,9, ALL BOY and Emma, 7....definitely the princess.
I am a teacher and love my job. Kids are my passion and I feel like I'm good at what I do. I get on my soap box about many things, but mostly when my family, friends, or job is on the line....watch out!
