Background

O.K. I have something really embarrassing to tell you guys. I read most of your blogs at work...on my break of course, and most of the sides will not show up b/c my screen is really small. Sooooo....Erin changed her background and I thought it was just the coloring. So, then I changed mine. Here's the problem, I changed mine to the same one as hers and just now noticed it b/c I checked her blog at home and could see the WHOLE thing! Erin, I'm so sorry I'm a copy cat and an idiot! I will promptly changed mine to something else. That will teach me to think I know what I'm doing! Why didn't someone say, "Hey, you idiot! Quit copying!"?....

Let me tell YOU something....

READY TO COOK...this phrase would lead you to believe that you can just pop it into the oven, right? WRONG! It means first...let me tell you...you have to do something totally disgusting!
Before I go into details, remember...I'm a farm girl.
I've pulled lambs.
Yep, as in insert hand into the...Yeah...you know where, and pull out lamb.
I've dealt with maggots...I know gross! Now you see how strong stomached I am!
I made sausage 8 1/2 months pregnant.
I've cleaned up vomit, snot, and poop.
Tonight I had to put MY hand into a turkey! EWWWW...
Jenn is cooking it for my lunch tomorrow and mom dropped the roaster off at her house and she was just going to pop that puppy into the oven. Well, mom reminded her that you have to clean out the turkey. "What, Clean Out What?" So, me being the kind-hearted sister, I go and get the roaster so my preggo sis doesn't have to stick her hand into my turkey. So a word to the wise...
When the package says...and I quote READY TO COOK and it also has on the package....GIBLETS INCLUDED. You HAVE to REACH INSIDE and take out the giblets. Do you know where to reach? YEP...and there is no lamb inside! Also, what do you think the neck looks like? EXACTLY! All curled up like that. GROSS!!!
THAT'S ALL FOLKS....

Panties in a Bunch

That's what happened to me today...my panties got in a bunch.
My son comes to me after breakfast and was crying and saying he was hungry. If you know Colby, you know he can be dramatic, so I asked him why he was still hungry. He said they would not give him cereal for breakfast and he does not like eggs and cheese aka...omelet.
The cooks WOULD NOT serve my child cereal, when it plainly states on the menu....CEREAL! I was hot to trot. I did not go down and demand a cereal tray for Colby...that will be next time. And it will happen again, b/c it's happened before. I told the principal I did not go in there, b/c I will throw a fit and cry and he did not want to see that. I guarantee I will next time b/c the momma bear instinct comes right out in me and cannot be tamped down. I just think about all those little ones that don't have a mommy to run to and go to class upset b/c they had to eat that egg thing. GRRRR...
On a different note, I am going to pic out paint for my whole house tonight. I think Bree is going with me. You should see my paint samples...they are covered with sticky notes:) Maybe I'll take a picture.
Until next time....

Crisis Averted

Whew...Sunday night is MY night for t.v. I love the Amazing Race, Brothers and Sisters, and Army Wives. Everytime I get home to watch the Amazing Race, it comes on at 7, the football game has ran over which makes 60 mins. run over, which makes the race come on late. So, I stayed at the farm and thought I would be good at 8. Nope, I missed the WHOLE thing. Talk about made!
Last night, I got on the computer and found the website where I could watch the whole episode without commercials. Yay...thank goodness, that could have been bad!
P.S. My friend Corin has started a blog, check it out.

If you can't be content with what you have received, be thankful for what you have escaped”...author unknown

I chose this quote b/c I have been without water for 3 days. Even though it stinks, it could be lots worse. I could be in Texas without water, electricity, a house, etc! I am thankful that I have water to haul, places to shower, a sister to do my laundry, and lots of worker bees at my house.

Friday (well Friday).....hmmmm.....WET! That's all I have to say. The parade was wet, the game was wet, and I did not take advantage of my last opprotunity to use my shower after all of that!
Saturday was wet!, but productive. We got almost all of the siding stained with help from Mom and Chance. Vance got a lot of insulating done in between outages too. I crawled into Jenn's shower with totally disgusting feet after she made us supper and brought it out to the farm.

Sunday was cold. We did not go to church, Vance was out almost all night, and we needed to regroup. After a strange attempt at fixing lunch with no water, I went to the farm and Steve and Corin came to help insulate. O.K....Steve more than Corin!, but in her defense, she was chasing Levi. We got all of the basement insulated and all of Emma's room. Also worked on the main level. Steve and Corin came over for supper and we also made our showering stops on the way home...boy am I tired of that!
Today...no water and after I get to school I notice my shirt has strange spots all over it. It looks like laundry detergent stains. So....I am wearing my new curves shirt even though we're not suppose to wear t-shirts. Pray for the administration that asks me why I'm wearing a t-shirt, b/c I might just unload on them!
I usually am a glass 1/2 full kind of girl, so I'll just be thankful for a t-shirt at all. Right?
