Check out Emma's birthday pics...unedited....
http://jennbeeler.blogspot.com/2010/01/6-going-on-16.html

That time of year....

I know some of you are going to think that I'm crazy with the following sentences, but it's true...
I kind of like this time of year!
I know, many of you have cabin fever and are SOOOO ready for Spring...and don't get me wrong, I LOVE Spring, but I also like this time of year...
Time for hibernation...
Time for playing games...
And cooking BIG meals...
Time for afternoon naps....
It's after the holidays, everything as slowed down.
Right before the madness of spring starts to rev up.
Ball
End of the school year madness
Birthdays
Roping
Fairs
This is the last time we are just US for a very long time, so instead of wishing for Spring...I'm going to cuddle a little closer and enjoy this time a little longer...
Remind me this the next time I'm growling about this cold and yucky weather:).

The love of a good dog!

On one of our snow days, the kids wanted to go jump on the trampoline. They thought it was a bit chilly, so they put on their slippers. They were having the time of their life and apparently Kodiak wanted in on the fun. He came barreling onto the trampoline and had lots of fun jumping with them. The kids are 1/2 afraid and 1/2 in love with Kodiak. He is HUGE and playful and he is still a puppy with puppy ways, but packs a big whop! He still likes to nip and jump, which Emma is not fond of b/c he's twice the size of her!

Emma and Kodiak hanging out.

Colby and Kodiak doing some kind of karate move:)

Kodiak trying to talk his friend, Runt, into trying it out.

This is what the kids play when Kodiak isn't on the trampoline...notice their slippers. What a bunch of goons!

Christmas with the Mehringers

Sounds like a t.v. show, doesn't it? They have such a cool last name! Corin and I have been bestest friends since....like....forever??!! Right Corin? We really got to know each other well in junior high, but I remember her from the get-go. Anyway, we've ALWAYS exchanged gifts, and then I had kids and she bought for them, and now she has kids...ya get the picture...right?
We try to get together and make an evening of it....so early in January they came for the evening. We had supper and then tore into the presents...

She made me fingerless gloves/mittens. They are so warm and handy. Love them! She also got me an angel that you've caught glimpses of in Emma's birthday pictures.
I got her warm and fuzzy boots and moose munch! YUM!

She made Colby a camo hat and gave him a camo wallet.

Emma also got a hat and a really cute chandelier night light for her bedroom.

I got Levi UNO Moo and a snowman accessory kit...just add snow!
I'm feeling a little bit of pressure to create something for gifts next year....
ummm, Vance.............

The Birthday Girl

If you know me even a little...you'll know that we celebrate birthday for at least a week long if not longer....soooooo here is one of many birthday posts to come! This is the beautiful birthday girl all dressed up next to her cake. Someone asked me what I would do when she was too big to sit on the table...is there such a thing? Aunt Lauren made her awesome cake! We were all in love with it. Auntie Laine did her hair and she's wearing a new dress for Aunt Lauren too!

A close up of her cake and her tutu that I made her and then she wouldn't wear:(.

Decorations! I had so much fun making these balls. I also took pictures of her and framed them in many dance poses!

Opening gifts! She got her very own set of bumpitz!

A sweet cardigan set that she had picked out, but didn't know she was getting.

Lots of glitter pens and paints.

A gorgeous dance bag and new sweats to slip on after dance. Her bag has her name on it!

A new dress and bracelet.
An adorable sweater dress with leggings....too cute!

She also got lots of hair accessories, jewelry, scissors that cut fun edges, new paper, and cute muk luks!
What a lucky little girl.
Wednesday is her actual birthday so she'll get to pick her birthday supper, take treats to school, and a very special treat...have her friend Sylvia come home with her b/c it's a church night! Sylvia comes home with us on every Awana night!
Then Saturday is her friend party. Sylvia and Emma are having a joint party at the Buccaneer Water Park at the Honey Creek Resort....like I said, we party all week!

party time!
